Dervish Sanders: FU, you gay hating bigot!

02. December 24, 2016 at 6:32 PM.

Luke: This is the kind of hate I get 100 times a day from Dervish, not to mention his multiple death threats against me.
So on Christmas Eve this is what the self described Christian Dervish has to say.
Thanks for proving me correct again Dervish.

03. December 29, 2016 at 5:41 PM.

Ducky's here: If you get so many comments from Dervish, why not post a few so we can sample the quality of his work?

04. December 30, 2016 at 1:35 AM. Also published on WYD December 30, 2016 at 8:16 AM.

Luke: I have Ducky.
Both here on my blog and at "Who's Your Daddy" blog. Of course you know that.
Your inquiry is dishonest.
Now go read Dervish's comments on my blog.
In fact YOU responded to Dervish with a comment on this blog asking Dervish why he would do such a thing (send 500 vile comments to this blog).
Your question is totally disingenuous.
If you had a blog I could send you all Dervish's comments, but you don't, and you don't leave any other way to contact you.
You are just a professional troll. You are also just another alter ego of RN. Enjoy your fun Ducky.
By the way, I just received a comment from Dervish today saying he is going to attack me with even larger numbers of his vile comments. Dervish is in to attacks using thousands of vile comments and death threats to this blog, both of which he has admitted to, and I posted that admittance also.
Thank you Ducky for proving you support such crap and are of the same shit character.

VP Debate

WAM-20161005.

Most are saying that Pence won the debate. I disagree. Unless of course, lies don't matter. If a debate winner is decided by calm presentation, I'll admit Pence won. If a debate is decided by facts and an honest presentation of what a candidate stands for, Pence lost, badly. Maybe Kaine kept interrupting because Pence was lying just about every time he opened his mouth. Pence's statements were so full of provable lies I can't imagine anyone could take him seriously.

No surprise since we are living in a fake image society. Facts don't matter as long as you look good and sound good, even if you are insulting and lying. It's a mystery to me why Trump is so popular. I guess I don't live in an image society. I'm old fashioned. I believe facts and honestly stating policy positions should win a debate.

Tom Harper: Pence is either a serial liar or he's the most uninformed politician in the world. Every time Kaine would recite one of Trump's inflammatory comments, Pence would pretend to be dumbfounded, and say "What??? Mr. Trump would never say something like that".

In any case, the conventional wisdom seems to be that Pence is positioning himself for 2020 and isn't really interested in helping Trump. That's fine with me. We can worry about Pence in four years. Keeping Trump out of the White House is far more urgent.

02. October 6, 2016 at 4:44 PM.

Luke: Tom - FYI, I deleted Dervish's comment below. He threatened to troll and attack your blog. I'm sorry if he does, but I can't control what assholes do.

Pence is one of the most conservative Republicans in the Congress. He calls for the death penalty for women who have abortions.
Trump seems to bring out the worst. David Duke said he decided to run because of Trump's success. We will have to deal with these bigots the next few elections. I do expect Pence to run for president in 2020. He could be more dangerous than Trump, because he will get Republican party leadership support. Total support, not the halfhearted support Trump is getting from Republican leadership.

03. October 6, 2016 at 4:26 PM.

Dervish Sanders: This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.

T. Paine: "I'm old fashioned. I believe facts and honestly stating policy positions should win a debate".

Luke, I am in total agreement with you, and by that standard I think both Pence and Kaine lost... and more importantly, We The People have truly lost. As the typical politicians that they are in all of the worst ways, I still find Kaine and Pence far preferable to their respective presidential nominees that they support on their tickets.

I will vote for neither though. I realize that the corrupt Hillary campaign will win in a month, but I really don't think it will matter what the outcome is. Either way, cynicism, lies, corruption, and the death of the constitution and the rule of law will be the outcome regardless of whom our next president is.

05. October 7, 2016 at 1:54 PM.

Luke: T. Paine,
Thanks for stopping by.
I agree, on that basis, they did both lose.
History tells us politicians have always been corrupt. Hopefully laws passed because of past corruption helps stop future corruption, but they just find new ways to enhance themselves.
Cynicism and disgust should lead us to be more diligent, but when 10's of millions of Americans are gullible enough to back a demagogue like Trump, I see little hope. Still, the Constitution leaves us the only non-violent way to make change, the vote. Politicians aren't going to change. It's the American voter that needs to change.

06. October 7, 2016 at 2:45 PM.

T. Paine: You are correct, sir. The fact that the populace is woefully uneducated on history, civics, economics, and trivial things like our constitution only goes to ensure that corrupt politicians are what we will continue to get. We cannot be bothered with paying attention to the issues or holding politicians accountable, but we sure can pay attention to what Brad and Angelina or the Kardashians are doing. If we held our politicians accountable for their actions, Hillary and Trump would never have even been considered for their respective party's nominations. Indeed, we get the government we deserve accordingly.

Republicans Endorsing Clinton

WAM-20161002.

Clinton supporters are giddy over Republicans and Republican newspapers endorsing Clinton.

I don't want their endorsements. I don't want to let them off the hook. They should be stuck with the demagogue they have chosen as their candidate. Republican leaders are denouncing what Trump says, but won't rescind their endorsements.

These Republican newspapers have endorsed every idiot idea the Republicans have put forward that has helped ruin our government. Now they want to distance themselves from the clown their party has elected. I guess they want to save face with the public, but that was gone years ago when they endorsed trickle down economics, when they endorsed Bush who lied and invaded Iraq killing thousands of American soldiers, when they endorsed not paying for two wars and a drug bill and raising the debt another 6 trillion, when they endorsed Bush's cutting Veteran benefits in the middle of a war, when they endorsed tax cuts when we were 16 trillion in debt, when they endorsed not renewing the Voting Rights Act in the face of Republicans passing laws that eliminated people's right to vote and courts finding those laws unconstitutional, when they endorsed Bush sending tax rebate checks to Americans while the debt grew, when they endorsed Cheney and his Halliburton company getting government contracts even when that company was killing soldiers with their dangerous supplies, and on, and on, and on.

Trump wants more tax cuts. Trump wants more trickle down economics. Trump wants to build up our already world superior military. Trump wants a wall on the Mexican border. Trump wants everything the Republicans have wanted for 40 years, most of which has been tried and proven to be failures. What's the difference? Trump is an outspoken bigot, racist, and hater? He's just been more vocal about what Republicans have been saying and passing laws about, for decades.

Republicans need to pay a higher price for the horrible leadership of the last 40 years and the criminally bad leaders they have put forth. They need to answer for electing Trump. I'm no prude so Trump's language makes no difference to me, than what Republicans have stood for, for decades. Is bad language the tipping point? Hogwash!

This decades old cry from Republicans that what government needs is a businessman as president. Hogwash! Government is as opposite from business as children are from adults. Government services are built on the idea of communal taxation. Business is built on the idea of paying no, or little taxes as possible. That's why Trump brags about not paying taxes and his corporate policies are all about not paying taxes. We should eliminate tax loop holes for companies like Trumps. Government is providing services to all the people, not bowing to the rich. Government should be paying its bills, not running up debt and then file bankruptcy. Republicans have gotten their way, cut taxes, no new taxes, and it has left us 20 trillion in debt. Republicans want to claim Obama has double the debt. Maybe that's because he is working on Republican laws and tax cuts, and the Republican majority won't let Obama change any of that.

So cheer on Republicans and Republican newspapers endorsing Clinton, but they should not be allowed to get off that easy. They should take the heat for the policies they passed and endorsed, that put us in this poor situation. They must pay a price for those rotten policies and their rotten candidate.

If Clinton needs Republican endorsements to win, she is a weak candidate.

Dervish Sanders: btw, YOU DESERVE me sending you "500 comments and 3 death threats", shithead.

02. October 2, 2016 at 7:01 PM.

Luke: Thanks for admitting that you did send me death threats and 500 vulgar comments. What did I do to deserve that? Nothing!! The number of and vulgarity of your comments proves what you are. I wonder why the Blogger Sleuth isn't targeting you for being a vulgar troll? I guess because the Blogger Sleuth (Pam) is a fake blog used to attack her enemies.

03. October 2, 2016 at 10:11 PM.

Tom Harper: The only good thing about rightwing newspapers and Republican VIPs endorsing Clinton is that this makes her more likely to win the election. I don't have any admiration for her, but she's by far the lesser of 2 evils. A Trump presidency is unthinkable.

Other than that, I agree it's contemptible and sort of amusing to see all these longtime architects of GOP policy trying frantically to distance themselves from their own self-created Frankenstein. "Trump does not represent America!" "This is not what the Republican Party stands for!" Riiight.

04. October 2, 2016 at 11:02 PM.

Dervish Sanders: You're going to get at least another 500 comments, shithead.

05. October 3, 2016 at 10:52 PM.

Ducky's Here: For what purpose, Mr. Dervish.

That action seems pretty infantile.

06. October 4, 2016 at 1:42 PM.

Larry Stein: After years of ignoring dog whistles used by the GOP donors to lure blue collar voters to support tax cuts for the rich, papers are finally noticing the bullhorn. These endorsements, while helpful, do not excuse decades of not so benign neglect.

07. October 4, 2016 at 3:58 PM.

Luke: Agreed!
Thanks for the comment Larry.

By The People, For The People

SAW 20110615.

This is a post from my WordPress blog Stay A While, along with the comments. I decided to duplicate my WordPress blog posts (along with all comments) on Blogger for posterity. Also because I lost my WordPress password and haven't been able to recover my account. So I just copied everything over and changed the publish dates. Anyway, enjoy.

Subject: "I remain liberal only in the sense that as long as government is wasting our money, I would rather they waste it on programs that go to individuals, not the corporate rich, or the military".

I doubt I'm wrong when I say the Republicans most famous and beloved President, is Abraham Lincoln. He is my favorite President also.

His famous line... government by the people, for the people... shall not perish...

Seems today's Republicans do not honor President Lincoln, or agree with his description of America.

Republicans have no concern for "the people".

Before FDR, Republicans had screwed the country up so bad, they created the "Great Depression". Their policies of cut taxes back in the 1920's favoring the corporations, Wall Street, and the rich (sound familiar) left "the people" out in the cold.

One big difference back then; there were no safety net programs, to help the starving people of America. The starvation and economic collapse continued until FDR became President. FDR enacted programs like Social Security (that the majority of Americans supported) to help ease the dying and suffering.

These "social" programs saved the lives of hundreds of thousands (maybe more) of Americans. These were not "social" programs in the sense of a Socialist Stalin forced government; but were "government by the people, for the people". Americans wanted and supported these policies; proven by the majority of Americans voting for FDR an unprecedented four times. Not a political fluke, or fad by any means.

The American people also knew they had to, and did, pay for those programs by taxing themselves at a higher rate, than ever before in American History. They understood that the poverty of their fellow Americans was not only their moral responsibility, but ended the instability that was dangerous to the country. They understood, that to build the greatest country in the World took money, and plenty of it.

The dictators of the World like Stalin only had to confiscate the wealth of his country. Americans had to give, freely, through taxation, to ensure having the best military, infrastructure, space program, highway system, medical, lifestyle, etc., etc.

Seems the Americans of the 20th century understood the sacrifices needed to build the greatest country ever on the face of the Earth. Seems the Americans of the 21st century not only don't understand sacrifice for country, but selfishly want to tear down what generations of Americans have spent blood and paid their hard-earned money to build.

Who are we to be the first generation of Americans, to leave America worse off, than it was left to us? And why, because we won't cough up a few dollars?

As Republicans continue to destroy what generations of Americans have willingly built; surely they are wrecking the future of the American people. Somehow Republicans equate progress for all the people, with Socialism.

I will continue to honor Abraham Lincoln and his description of America as being "by the people and for the people".

Jerry Critter: Republicans are trying to return us to the 1920's, including the lack of a safety net.

02. June 18, 2011 at 1:25 pm.

w-dervish: I thought Reagan was the most beloved Republican president. In Lincoln's day the Republicans were a reform party... this was prior to their sell-out to the wealthy and corporations.

I agree that Republicans are destroying what generations of Americans have built, and are surely wrecking the future. Obviously they just don't care.

03. June 18, 2011 at 1:45 pm.

TOM Wordpress: I thought I would get a disagreement about Lincoln being the most beloved Republican President; and I suppose today’s Republicans would rate Reagan higher than Lincoln, which only shows how off course Republicans have become. Yes, Republicans would like to go back to the governemnt of Coolidge and pre WW II.To bad they have not learned the lessons of History, or they would know that will not work. Thanks for the visititing my blog guys

04. June 19, 2011 at 2:07 pm.

dmarks: I'm all for a safety net, but not for the well-off and wealthy. They don't need it. In recent history, the Democrats have come out as being more in favor of handouts to the wealthy. Look at the massive giveaway called TARP (most Republicans voted against it), and the curious case of SCHIP... supposedly for needy children. The Democrats favored expanding it to adults of means, while the Republicans wanted it limited to needy children.

(As for my view on TARP and the Wall-Street bailouts: I side with most Republicans and a minority of more hardline leftist Democrats: I opposed it all).

05. June 19, 2011 at 2:33 pm.

w-dervish: More Republicans may have voted against TARP, but that doesn't mean they were against it. George bush signed TARP. If more Republican votes had been necessary for it to pass more Republicans would have voted for it. There was no way this thing wasn't going to pass.

Republicans knew they could vote against it, it would pass anyway, and the ILLUSION that they are in favor of the "free market" would be maintained (thus placating the portion of their deluded base that believes the "free market" nonsense).

Republicans are the ones who champion legislation that benefits the wealthy (almost exclusively). The Democrats also champion legislation that benefits the wealthy, but that's because they need money to run their campaigns (excluding blue dogs, who are really the Republican-lite wing of the Democratic Party). Democrats also champion legislation that benefits the rest of us… Legislation the Republicans almost always oppose.

06. June 19, 2011 at 3:42 pm.

dmarks: Yes, McCain and Bush supported TARP. I have no qualms about siding with hard-left Democrats on this and against Bush and McCain.

07. June 19, 2011 at 4:27 pm.

TOM Wordpress: Whatever side (Republican or Democrat) the question is, was it needed, and where would we be without them? (bailouts)

08. June 20, 2011 at 8:57 am.

dmarks: I tend to think they were not needed. Wall Street does not need any handouts. If GM and Chrysler had gone bankrupt (no bailouts) they would have survived. Bankruptcy would have merely made them much better able to fend off creditors.

09. June 20, 2011 at 11:22 pm.

TOM Wordpress: The main reason given for the use of bailout. was to save the jobs, not only for the parent companies, but other companies (jobs) down the line.
